Wilton Lubin's body is found in the St. Lawrence River. News of the body's discovery rekindles the investigation, and the police start looking again for Sébastien Métivier. In 1986, a man violently attacks a young boy. A police officer then links this attack to the disappearances of November ‘84.

A serial killer theory is gaining ground. The suspect's son reveals to the media that he thinks his father is involved. In 1993, this man was interrogated in prison by the police, but in a twist of fate, just as some people thought he would have confessed, he took his own life in his cell a few hours before taking a polygraph test.
