A man resigns from his job and finds himself trapped in a strange village dominated by the sinister Two, who insists that his name is Six and nowhere else exists.
Modern reimagining of the 1960s cult drama. Number Six is introduced to his brother in the Village. Though he knows this can only be another ploy by Number Two to break down his resistance, Six is still drawn to Number Sixteen. But as Six determines to escape along with his 'brother', Two cruelly exploits a dark secret in Six's past which leaves him struggling to recall his own name.
Reimagining of the cult 1960s drama. Two enlists Six as an 'undercover' to spy on other Villagers who have dreams of a world outside. These Villagers, known as Dreamers, live in fear of being discovered by Two. Six is both elated and terrified to discover that his friend 313 is a Dreamer, and resolves to save her when she is sent for 'treatment'. But things get complicated when Six finds out that his fellow undercover 909 is having an illicit affair with Two's son 11-12.
Drama based on the classic 1960s series. Six is piecing together fragments of memory and believes the woman he spent the night with in New York before he arrived at the Village is the key to his captivity. When the village 'modern love bureau' offers to find Six his love match he is dismissive - but soon changes his mind when he is shown a picture of 4-15, the woman he is matched with. There is no doubt in Six's mind that 4-15 and Lucy are the same person. But is she for real or is Two pulling the strings?
When 11-12 demands to know where the Village is, Two gives his son control of the pills that will wake up M2 - 11-12's mother- and allow them to spend the day together. As the pair bond, a distraught 11-12 soon learns that he does exist outside of the Village and can never leave it. With M2 conscious, holes begin to open up in the Village reality, as Two takes a stroll and shares some social niceties with the wary Villagers. After a couple of disquieting encounters with 313 and 147, a disconcerted Six discovers that he has a vengeful double - 2x6 - who is intent on killing Two. Six seeks out Two to warn him of the danger, but Two denies his identity, claiming to be unTwo. When 2x6 tracks down unTwo and attempts to kill him, Six realises that this may be a ploy by Two to extend his control of him. Meanwhile 313 continues to have disturbing visions of the other world and is unsettled when she finds an access point to it in the desert.
The series inspired by the 1960s cult classic reaches its explosive final episode. The pains that Six has been suffering from are getting worse. He is summoned to the clinic and is issued with a certificate of dying. Two tells him that Village death offers clarity of choice - this life or no life. Surveying the Village expansion, Two tells his son 11-12 that one day he will inherit the Village and it will stay in their family for generations. 313 continues to be haunted by visions of herself from another life. She wants to find a way to help Six. Two tells her there is something she can do, but she must not let the girl from the Other Place control her. Six collapses in front of 147 who takes him to a Village prophet and tells him that deliverance is coming - they just need to wait. Two taunts Six with details of his upcoming funeral, while 313 listens from afar. As the effects of Village death begin to overtake Six, more holes begin to open in the Village.
