A gamer named Keita meets Karen, president of their school's video game club, who invites him to join their ranks, but Keita considers himself too casual a gamer to compete with the others.

Keita faces backlash for his strong rejection of the gaming club; on a visit to the arcade he runs into Tasuku, one of the club's members, and becomes surprisingly excited to have someone to play with.

Tasuku attempts to introduce Keita to Chiaki, another member of the club, but a misunderstanding causes his girlfriend, Aguri, to think Tasuku has feelings for Chiaki instead of her.

Karen happens upon Keita one weekend and challenges him to some arcade games, learning more about him and his perspective on competitive versus casual gaming.

Tasuku tries to mend fences between Keita and Chiaki after learning they play a social game together as friends without knowing each other's identities, but his efforts result in more misunderstandings.

Keita and Aguri find more reason to mistakenly believe Tasuku has feelings for Chiaki; Aguri and Tasuku conspire to aid Keita in his attempt to woo Karen as Karen becomes convinced Keita doesn't like her.
