Between Us

Two couples navigate love, intimacy, and the consequences of small, seemingly insignificant decisions on their long-term relationships.

Nanna has her next appointment with her therapist. Today, she brings us back to the aftermaths of the wedding and how appearance is still important to the four of them, so they are not being true about their innermost feelings. Kasper learns something medically important about himself and is trying to find a way to tell a hopeful Nanna, whose period is late. Merete is flirting on Messenger with her ex and Joachim is still busy trying to get his career up and running. In the end, Joachim discovers something about Merete, while Kasper tells Nanna big news.

The therapist start asking Nanna questions about who she really is and why she is here with him, but Nanna isn't ready to talk about it yet. She continues telling about the four of them: Merete and Nanna are going to an important pitch in Oslo and leaves their men alone in Denmark. Even though the presentation goes well, the rest of the trip is terrible. Nanna realizes she is not as cool as she told Kasper about not having children. Merete is a bit worried about Nanna's commitment to the job and seeks support in her ex. At the same time, we follow Joachim and Kasper and what is happening in Denmark while their women are in Oslo. Joachim is concerned about Merete's flirt, but he is also scared he is being paranoid. Things turn worse as he has a meeting with a curator who tells him he is a terrible artist. Joachim ends up going on a bender with Kasper who has his own problems. The guys start bonding and end up going out with a group of students, where one young girl has an extra eye on Joachim.

Joachim realizes he has not told Merete something in a long time. Kasper is afraid Nanna isn't telling the truth about whether she wants children anymore. Kasper has a feeling of having given up his passion in life for a dream that is not happening, especially after a job incident where he senses that he has met a blind road. Joachim and Kasper are also true to each other, giving great drunk advice, ending up with Kasper making a momentous decision while Joachim comes clean with Merete. In Oslo, Merete leaves her relationship woes behind and Joachim later tells her where he is in life. Nanna reveals a big decision to Kasper.

Nanna is with her psychiatrist again and tells about how things have settled since she and Kasper have decided they can both have what they want. However, when Kasper and Nanna look into the adoption world, they get a harsh reality check and now they have different thoughts for the future. Merete and Joachim are fighting for their relationship and Joachim gives her a blunt ultimatum.

When Kasper realizes that he and Nanna have different opinions about their future, only a drastic measure appears to offer a way out. Merete is alone at work and has to make some big decisions without being able to discuss it with Nanna, who has gone underground. Joachim is getting certain that Merete might leave him and decides to be the bigger person, but Merete realizes she is being egoistic and makes a big decision, minus a big detail. Nanna's therapist questions her honesty.
