Rolf Larsen is an investigator at Vestegnens Police department in Copenhagen. He is married to Maria, who is returning from her maternity leave to work as a stewardess, after giving birth to their daughter Andrea

Five years has passed since Rolf lost his 3-month-old daughter. He is divorced to Maria and has left Vestegnens Police to work as a town officer in Northern Jutland.

With the help of Neel, investigator Rolf Larsen found serious errors in the Danish DNA register. He persuades his colleague Skaubo to search for DNA from both the 5-year-old Minna case that has not been solved and from his own daughter's disappearance.

Together with their Polish colleague, Rolf and Claire seek out the witness who contacted the mother of the kidnapped Minna. Even though she is shocked by police attendance, the witness immediately recognizes the photo of Minna - 5 years later than expected

In Paris, two men, Grégoire and Fabien, are brought to trial. They are shocked by the murder of Victoria and they confess to having paid her to be the surrogate mother of their baby Leó.

Rolf, Claire and Karol arrive at the monastery in the southern Poland and demand to talk to the abbes. She rejects any knowledge of Victoria and of illegal adoptions. But Rolf and Claire become suspicious as they watch the nuns burn birth records.
