The Black Donnellys

Family first-The Donnellys are four young working-class Irish-American brothers who live by this motto despite their involvement with organized crime in New York City. Police investigators question Joey Ice Cream (Keith Nobbs), a childhood friend and the unreliable narrator who introduces the Donnelly brothers and sets the scene. Kevin Donnelly (Billy Lush) is convinced he's lucky, but when his gambling bets add up, his oldest brother Jimmy Donnelly (Thomas Guiry) kidnaps the mob-connected bookie Kevin owes money to. When word around the neighborhood connects the Donnellys to the disappearance, Sean Donnelly, (Michael Stahl-David) the youngest, pays a severe price for sharing his last name. Tommy Donnelly, (Jonathan Tucker) the reliable one, is forced to make difficult sacrifices for his family when Jimmy's plans fall apart and Sean ends up in the hospital. Kirk Acevedo and Olivia Wilde also star.

As the Donnelly family learns Sean's (Michael Stahl-David) condition, Jimmy (Thomas Guiry) impatiently sits in a holding cell. Tommy (Jonathan Tucker) and Kevin (Billy Lush) have to accept what they did as they visit Sean. Overwhelmed, Tommy confides in Jenny Reilly (Olivia Wilde), his longtime childhood friend, which ultimately leads to more than friendship. The brothers tie up Jimmy's loose ends by disposing the body and paying back the mob. Meanwhile, Nicky Cottero (Kirk Acevedo) seizes control of the Italian mob while the murder investigation begins. Keith Nobbs also stars.

Tommy deals with Sean losing his health coverage and the hospital shoving him into the mentally disturbed ward. Jimmy convinces Kevin to bail him out of prison, despite Tommy's accurate predictions of what Jimmy will do once he's out. Tommy deals with his guilt about taking the lives of Sal and Huey, even if it was to save his brother.

Tommy is shocked and guilt-ridden when Kate, Huey's widow, asks him to host Huey's wake at the Donnelly's bar. When they realize the taps are drained, Kevin and Joey Ice-Cream go on a mission to find alcohol and end up supplying the Catholic wake with Jewish wine. Drugged out Jimmy makes an entrance, and raises Dokey's suspicions of Jimmy killing his brother - leading to Tommy and Dokey in a stand-off.

Hoping to collect the Donnellys' debt, Nicky (Kirk Acevedo) threatens their mom, Helen (Kate Mulgrew). Sean (Michael Stahl-David) comes home; Jimmy (Thomas Guiry) and Joey (Keith Nobbs) collect Louie Downtown's payments; Tommy (Jonathan Tucker) takes a bribe.

Tommy (Jonathan Tucker) gets pulled into Jimmy (Thomas Guiry) and Kevin's (Billy Lush) bookmaking action when he realizes the guy about to get busted for not paying is his friend Maxwell (guest star John Lavelle). Kevin Conway guest stars.
