Adam Nagaitis

Actor Adam Nagaitis became a period drama regular with roles in "Banished" (BBC Two, 2015), "Houdini & Doyle" (Fox, 2016) and "The Terror" (AMC, 2018-) while also enjoying big-screen parts in "The Man with the Iron Heart" (2017) and "The Commuter" (2018). Born in Chorley, England, Nagaitis first appeared on screen in kids' drama "Children's Ward" (ITV, 1989-2000) before making his film debut in gritty crime drama "The Local" (2005) and enjoying a two-episode stint in "Law and Order: UK" (ITV1, 2009-2014). Nagaitis then spent the next decade studying his craft at both the Stella Adler Conservatory in New York and RADA in London, but eventually returned to screens with a small role in Northern Irish historical drama "'71" (2014). Nagaitis then landed minor parts in crime movies "Peterman" (2014) and "Snow in Paradise" (2014), showed up as Simon's university friend Pete in bawdy comedy "The Inbetweeners 2" (2014) and played drug addict Brett in the highly acclaimed first series of "Happy Valley" (BBC One, 2014-). Following guest spots on murder mystery "Code of a Killer" (ITV1, 2015) and high-concept comedy "You, Me & The Apocalypse" (Sky 1, 2015), Nagaitis appeared in numerous period dramas. He played tortured Private Buckley in Jimmy McGovern's 18th Century tale "Banished" (BBC Two, 2015), Mr. Cummings in feminist biopic "Suffragette" (2015), the titular siblings' alcoholic brother Branwell in TV movie "To Walk Invisible: The Bronte Sisters" (2016) and Scotland Yard Sergeant George Gudgett in supernatural crime drama "Houdini & Doyle" (Fox, 2016). Nagaitis returned to the film world to play Czech Nazi collaborator Karel Curda in Third Reich drama "The Man with the Iron Heart" (2017) and conductor Jimmy in Liam Neeson vehicle "The Commuter" (2018) before being cast as Petty Officer Cornelius Hickey in aquatic anthology "The Terror" (AMC, 2018-).
