After Masane arrives in Tokyo, chaos ensues when Rihoko is taken by the Child Welfare Ministry, prompting the Witchblade to be unleashed.

Masane is conscripted into service by the Doji Group after being reborn a furious force of nature; her daughter wanders Tokyo alone as the reality of her new life sets in.

Masane is sent to deal with the rogue X-Cons stalking the streets of Tokyo by the Doji Group; Takayama guarantees Masane a new life with her daughter in exchange for her service.

Masane learns a powerful entity is looking for the Witchblade, this causes her comfort to fade.

Masane is now able to provide for Rihoko after asking the Doji Group for a new salary; this brings Masane peace, but not for long as there is a reporter named Tozawa who is looking into the Witchblade.
