    June 1922. The Roaring Twenties. Radical change of atmosphere at the Domaine des Salines. John lands with his court of idle riches at the Villa, much to the displeasure of Bernadette and also of Nora who severely disapproves of her father's depraved morals. Martin the eldest son is working on an ambitious project: a new wood mill. André-Julesreturns from college.

    Anaïs arrives in Cap-sur-Mer and happily reunites with her mother Nora and her grandfather John. André-Jules plans to leave very soon to study in Italy! Anaïs takes this decision badly, as a great sentimental betrayal. The Belziles meet with John to formally present their offer to purchase land. John has a very serious riding accident.

    The whole Desrochers clan is at the bedside of John who is in the worst possible condition. Rachel wants to make peace permanently with the demons of her past. Martin sinks into violent and destructive behavior. It is in this troubled climate that Calvin resurfaces. He came to settle his accounts with his ex-wife Nora and try to rebuild the bridges with his daughter Anaïs.

    John absolutely wants to see Rachel again before she leaves to settle down in Quebec. At the Belziles, it's the day André-Jules leaves for Italy. André-Jules makes peace with his sweet Anaïs. Martin takes advantage of his brother's absence to approach Anaïs. Martin who is beside himself, goes so far as to follow his instincts for revenge and does the irreparable.

    Anaïs tries to survive the sordid tragedy that has just happened to her as best she can. Wilbrod Belzile, completely overwhelmed by Martin's excessive gestures, makes the heartbreaking decision to throw his son out of the house. Martin leaves Cap-sur-Mer but meets Anaïs on his way. John reunites in solidarity with Rachel and finds projects to unite their definitive destinies.
