Alba, a seven-year-old girl, walks along a beach promenade when she disappears. The police search for the little girl, who seems to have been swallowed by the sea. Yolanda, her mother, pleads for her search.

Manuela travels through the night with the girl to Madrid while rehearsing what they will say from now on: that they are mother and daughter, and the little girl's name is Paloma. However, their arrival in Madrid is not going to be easy when Manuela discovers that her wallet with money and cards has been stolen.

Manuela gives up on handing Paloma over to the authorities and considers that asking her family for help might be the best option. Manuela reunites with Héctor, her former boyfriend, only to discover that he is a police officer. Héctor recalls, with some resentment, Manuela's abandonment and her inexplicable distance.

Maite discovers little Paloma in the hotel room, and Manuela lies, claiming to be the daughter of a friend. Everything escalates when Manuela receives a court summons to testify. She has to leave the little girl alone in the hotel room, instructing her not to move. However, her concern rises when she returns to the room and the little girl is not there. Where could she be?

After admitting to her family that Paloma is her daughter, Manuela continues to lie to them, claiming not to know who the father is. This argument increases suspicion among the León family: What if it's Héctor? He had a relationship with Manuela around the same time the little girl was born.

Manuela reveals to Olga that she has just found her real mother. Why have they lied to her all this time? What are they trying to hide from her? And at night, Olga confronts her husband about something that happened in the past, something for which he is responsible. What truth are they referring to? At the police station, Héctor reads the police report about Manuela.
